As a key member of the Career Transition team, April’s sincere interest in people quickly puts clients at ease. Honest in her methods, and with a natural ability to “connect” with people, she has a mandate to deliver focused career direction, and a passion for seeing our clients through to success.
April is a certified career coach, trained group facilitator, and has extensive experience delivering presentations on a range of topics. Her background includes marketing and senior administrative roles within the federal government, recruitment, and communications sectors. Throughout the past six years, April has tapped into her experience, knowledge, and intuitiveness to provide guidance on career management issues to hundreds of clients.
As an active community member, April is proud to be the Chair of the African Nova Scotian Advisory Committee to the Halifax Regional School Board. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Auburn Drive High School Advisory Committee. She has devoted several years volunteering with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada, sitting on the Diversity Committee and facilitating workshops and educational seminars at national conferences. As a great organizer of events, she has been a key contributor to a number of company sponsored events as well as fundraising initiatives such as the Manulife Dragon Boat Festival in support of the Nova Scotia Sport Fund and the Great Big Gig, an annual event in support of the IWK Health Centre.
Currently April resides in the Dartmouth area with her husband and two sons.
